Fire broke out at an open scrap godown in Mominpura

Nagpur: Fire fighters were on their toes on Monday with multiple fires being reported from different locations.

In the first incident, a fire broke out at an open scrap godown in densely-populated Mominpura at around 4.45pm. Soon, three fire tenders rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control within an hour.

Sources said that scrap dealers had dumped tyres at the open space. “As the tyres were burning, there was lot of smoke. The fire also engulfed three scrap cars,” said an official.
The fire engulfed material worth ₹2.8 lakh. Sources said that fire tenders faced difficulty reaching the spot as half the road was closed due to construction work.

The reason behind the fire is yet to be known.

Meanwhile, after a machine caught fire in Kalamna market, one fire tender was rushed to the spot. Fire fighters doused the fire within an hour. tnn
In the third incident, a fire at an electric DP in Kalamna caused loss of property estimated at ₹6 lakh.
