Five held for stealing 330 kg mangoes from truck in Kalamna, Nagpur

Nagpur: Kalamna Police in Nagpur on Wednesday arrested five of the seven persons for stealing 330 kilogram raw mangoes from a truck. When the truck driver tried to chase them, they smashed the windshield of his vehicle.

The accused have been identified as Narayan Sunil Tandon (22), a resident of Talmale Layout, Om Nagar, Kalamna, Ankush alias Lankesh Vilas Chandole (19), a resident of Nageshwar Nagar, Pardi, Mohammad Akram Rustam Sheikh (21), a resident of Gauri Nagar, Krishnakant alias Ram Sanjay Kale (22), a resident of Gangabag Bhavan and Sheikh Kalim Sheikh Salim (22), a resident of MHADA Quarter No 42, Chikhli.

The accused, along with two of their accomplices had stolen 330 kilogram raw mangoes worth Rs 19,800 from a truck (TS-02/UC-1435) around 6.10 am on May 27. When the truck driver Nagbhushan Balaiya Appnashetty chased them, they pelted stones on his vehicle and broke the windshield.

Police said the accused have been arrested on charges under Sections 395, 427 of the IPC.
