Flesh trade racket busted at family salon in Nagpur’s Gokulpeth

Nagpur: The Crime Branch of Nagpur Police conducted a raid on a family salon in Gokulpeth locality of the city, operating under the Ambazari police station limits, and uncovered a clandestine prostitution racket. The salon’s owner, identified as Bunty alias Rohit Vijay Khedkar (33), a resident of Pandhrabodi, was arrested.

According to police, the operation was initiated acting on a tip-off received by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection), M Sudarshan, who learned of the alleged prostitution activities within the premises of the family salon. During the raid, the police successfully apprehended Bunty and rescued a 25-year old woman who had allegedly been forced into the illicit trade.

A case has been registered against Bunty under relevant sections of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act. The action was carried out by API O S Sontakke and a team including Head Constable Pramod Arkhel, Mahesh Bawne, Jayanta Nandekar, Nandkishore Dewgade, Aqib Shaikh, Radha, and others.
