Foreign currency seized in burglary case in Nagpur

Nagpur: The Crime Branch of Nagpur Police have made a breakthrough in a recent burglary case and arrested the thief and seized a large amount of foreign currency from his possession.

The arrested accused has been identified as 23-year-old Shahrukh Khan Hanif Khan, a resident of Jyoti Nagar, Tehsil area. His accomplice, Kshitij Chowkse from Buddha Nagar, and his minor son remain at large.

According to police, the burglary occurred on July 15, when thieves broke into the residence of Sanjay Satyanarayan Joshi on Ghat Road in Ganeshpeth. The intruders stole approximately Rs 8 lakh in cash, along with various foreign currencies. Following the incident, Ganeshpeth Police registered a case of burglary. The Crime Branch, after an intensive search, arrested Shahrukh Khan and recovered foreign currencies including those from the United States, Dubai, and several other countries, along with a moped valued at Rs 3.23 lakh. The police have also linked Shahrukh to three other burglary cases.

Electronic goods worth Rs 3.20 lakh stolen:

Gaming consoles, computers, and gadgets collectively worth Rs 3.20 lakh were stolen from Timebrake e-Sports Lounge Gaming Zone on Narsala Road in Hudkeshwar Police Station.

According to the police, the theft occurred during the night of July 27 and 28. The thief entered the shop by breaking open the latch on the front door and stole a Microsoft Xbox system, three PlayStation 5 systems, PSU, CPU, and other materials. The Hudkeshwar police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
