Nagpur: The four-day Mango, Millet and Grain Festival organised by the Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board, Nagpur, was inaugurated on Thursday at Kusumtai Wankhede Hall, North Ambazari Road.
Sanjay Kadam, Executive Director, Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board, inaugurated the festival. Considering the nutritional importance of cereals, it is necessary to increase the consumption of cereals in the diet. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative to promote millets in the country, more people are now producing value-added products from cereals.
The festival is a platform for such producers for displaying the value added products in the festival which will conclude on May 19. Products like Jowar, Nachani, Bajra, Sawa, Varai, Mango etc., are on display at the venue. A large number of people visited on the inaugural day of the exhibition on Thursday.
Variety of mangoes like Dasheri, Laddu, Langda, Safeda, Chausa etc., also are on display. Visitors can also purchase the products from the farmers. Millets and grain growers from all over Maharashtra are participating in this festival.
