Four Nagpur women involved in theft cases nabbed by Jabalpur GRP

Nagpur/Jabalpur: GRP Jabalpur succeeded in nabbing four women, hailing from Nagpur, involved in theft cases robbing passengers in different trains and retrieved stolen gold and silver jewellery valued at around 1.68 lakh from them.

The arrested accused have been identified as Rakhi Parmar (27),wife of Arjun Parmar of Rameshwari Ring Road, Ajni in Nagpur, Hina Hathagale (25), wife of Arjun Hathagale of Ajni in Nagpur, Sumitra Shinde (24), wife of Naresh Shinde of Shatabdi Chowk, Ring Road, Nagpur and Surekha Shinde (25), wife of Mangesh Shinde of Ring Road, Nagpur.

SHO of GRP Jabalpur, Balram Singh Yadav informed that under the jurisdiction of Superintendent of Rail Police Jabalpur, Simala Prasad and DSP Rail, Lokesh Marco, a joint team of GRP and RPF Jabalpur started a special campaign against theft incidents in different trains. During the campaign, on Friday, GRP personnel were checking suspicious elements at Jabalpur Railway Station. In the search, GRP personnel spotted some women when they tried to escape from the platform. The GRP team stopped the women on suspicion.

During questioning, the women confessed to stealing jewellery from passengers. They entered trains for selling edibles and other commodities and burgled jewellery from passengers in general bogies. In their search, GRP retrieved gold and silver jewellery amounting to Rs 1.68 lakh.

The women thieves were apprehended by a team led by SHO, GRP Jabalpur, Balram Singh Yadav and comprised ASI, Sukhnandni Pendro, ASI, Rajendra Baghel, Head Constables Arun Tiwari, Satyendra Singh, Veeran Mahobia, Deepak Pathak, Constables Parsuram Yadav, Ravikant Rajak, Woman Constables, Akansha Kamle, Manisha Dubey, Hemlata Kerketta and RPF’s HCs Gajendra Gautam and Devendra Singh.
