Nagpur: The Central India Group of Institutions running under the aegis of Mehmuda Shikshan and Mahila Gramin Vikas Bahuddeshiya Sanstha had recently organized a ‘Free Eye Check-up and Distribution of Spectacles Camp’ on the occasion of former Prime Minister Late Rajiv Gandhi Jayanti.
The main purpose of the Camp was to create awareness about the importance of the eye care amongst the college students. Former State Minister, Dr. Anees Ahmad had taken sincere efforts to conduct the camp keeping in mind the health of students.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Rafat Khan, an eminent Phoco Surgeon. Akshar Hospital doctors and its team examined the eyesight of the students and gave spectacles according to the number. Under the supervision of Dr. Gopal Arora, Phoco & Lasik Surgeon and his colleagues, Dr. Mohsin Vanjara Ophthalmologist, Madhuri Sakhre Optometrist, the students were examined. The camp was successful with the active cooperation of Manisha Meshram, Optometrist, Raksha Shyamkuwar, Archana Maliya and Maya Bhave Optometrist.
About 453 spectacles were distributed free of charge by the Swarajya Sevabhavi Sanstha, Mumbai which included its President Ramesh Shelke, Secretary Vishal Sonwane, Treasurer Rajendra Mane, Optician Atish Awad , Lalit Jagtap and their team.
The doctors and their team explained in detail to the students about the importance of the eye care. Students were motivated to eat a balanced diet and do exercise. And also they were cautioned to take adequate care while using their laptop and mobile phones. All the Principals, teaching faculty, non-teaching staff of the college and students were present in large numbers.
