Mirchi ka salan or curried chili peppers, is a popular chili and peanut curry of Hyderabad. It accompanies Hyderabadi biryani.
Ingredients:
10-15 big green chilies
50 ml oil
2 bay leaves
1 black cardamom
1 tsp Cumin seeds
1 tsp onion seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds
3 sticks curry leaves
1 big onion [chopped]
1 tbsp ginger-garlic seeds
1 ½ tsp red chili powder
2 tsp dhaniya zeera powder
1 tsp haldi
1 tomato [chopped]
1 tsp sesame seed powder
1 tbsp roasted peanuts powder
1 tbsp coconut paste
4 tbsp curd
1 tsp gur
1 tbsp Coriander leaves
Salt to taste
Method:
Slit, deseed and fry big green chilies and fry them and keep aside.
Take oil in a pan, put bay leaves, cardamom, cumin seeds, onion seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves,and stir well.
Add onion and cook till golden brown.
Add ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, dhaniya-zeera powder, haldi, salt and mix well.
Add tomato, sesame seed powder, roasted peanut powder, coconut paste, curd, gur and mix well.
Add water to make gravy and cook well.
Add coriander leaves, fried chilies and mix well.
Serve Hot.
