Nagpur: The state government has initiated the application process for the ‘Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahna Yojana’. Following this, eligible applications are being reviewed in three phases, and technical verification of the bank accounts of the eligible applicants is underway. The Women and Child Development Department sent 1 rupee to the accounts of one crore eligible female account holders as a colorful rehearsal. However, out of one crore beneficiaries, around 15 to 16 lakh women did not receive the funds. The reasons for this discrepancy are being investigated, and any errors will be corrected.
In a meeting held on Wednesday, the state cabinet decided to disburse the first two installments of the Ladki Bahna Yojana to eligible women on August 17.
During the technical inspection conducted by the Women and Child Development Department, it was found that many women did not receive even one rupee in their accounts. This raised questions: Did these women provide incorrect bank account details in their applications? Were their bank accounts closed? Was there a mistake in the account number? Were there duplicate applications? Or were there other underlying reasons? Efforts are being made to identify and rectify these issues. The Women and Child Development Department is reaching out to these account holders to resolve the errors.
