G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur (GHRCE) celebrated Engineer’s Day on 24th September 2024 with great enthusiasm. The event was graced by Chief Guest Dr.Atul Vaidya, Director of CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur and BOG Chairman GHRCE, Shri Sunil Raisoni. The celebration aimed to honour the contributions of Student and faculties in research excellence.

The program commenced with a welcome address by the Director, Dr. Sachin Untawale, who emphasized GHRCE’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence. He elaborated on the rigorous evaluation criteria used for selecting the best-performing faculty and students, and highlighted the significant achievements of the institution over the past academic year.

Parth Aparajit, a student from the ETC department, delivered an inspiring speech on the life and accomplishments of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. Parth’s speech served as a reminder of the lasting impact that visionary engineers can have on society.

In his address, Chief Guest Dr. Atul Vaidya underscored the growing need for sustainable and eco-friendly research in the engineering field. He emphasized that the role of engineers today is more crucial than ever, as they are at the forefront of creating sustainable solutions for the challenges posed by climate change, environmental degradation, and resource depletion. Dr. Vaidya praised GHRCE for fostering a culture of innovation and credited the institution’s visionary management for driving this progress.

He inspired the audience with a mantra: “Sustainable quality work and dedicated efforts lead to success and growth.” He encouraged both faculty and students to remain committed to continuous learning and professional development. Dr. Vaidya also congratulated the students and faculty who had been recognized with R&D incentives, highlighting that their contributions were key to the institution’s ongoing success.

Dr. S. B. Jaju, Dean of R&D, outlined GHRCE’s stellar research achievements, including numerous patents, publications, and innovations. He also announced the names of faculty members and students who received incentives for their outstanding contributions. This year, the institution recognized:

• 28 faculty members and 45 students for 21 granted patents,
• 101 faculty members and 158 students for 59 published patents,
• 27 faculty members for publishing 19 books,
• 56 faculty members for conducting 18 Short-Term Training Programs (STTPs),
• 20 faculty members for organizing 5 international conferences,
• 20 faculty members for completing 11 research grants,
• 8 faculty members recognized as NPTEL Toppers,
• 20 faculty members for publishing in 11 SCI Journals, and
• 1 faculty member for Consultancy through Industrial Training.
In total, an impressive ₹9.95 lakhs was distributed as incentive awards to celebrate these accomplishments.
Shri Sunil Raisoni, Chairman of the Board of Governors (BoG), delivered the Presidential Address, in which he congratulated and praised both the faculty and students for their outstanding achievements. He emphasized that GHRCE’s culture of excellence is rooted in a shared vision of growth, innovation, and social responsibility. He also urged everyone to continue pushing the boundaries of what is possible, particularly in the fields of research and sustainable development.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Rahul Agrawal, who expressed gratitude to all the guests, faculty, and students for their participation. He also acknowledged the hard work of the R&D Team for organizing a successful event, which served as a milestone in GHRCE’s continuous pursuit of innovation, research, and academic excellence.
