Nagpur: Crime Branch Unit-4 of Nagpur Police arrested three members of an inter-state gang involved in stealing cash from automated teller machines (ATMs) of different banks and seized Rs 28,500 cash, three cell phones, metal strips and a Hyundai I20 car collectively worth over Rs 5.90 lakh from them.
The accused have been identified as Atul Vishram Pal (19), Rohit Bahadursingh (24), both residents of village Tarapur, Tehsil Lalganj Ajhara, district Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh (UP), and Shivmurta Ramkhiwan Pal (24), a resident of Ramnagar, Tehsil Kunda, district Pratapgarh (UP).
The accused were involved in stealing cash by tampering with the ATMs of different banks in Sakkardara, Nandanvan, Nandanvan, Hudkeshwar areas of Nagpur and Old Kamptee. Theft cases were registered at different police stations.
On the basis of the footage of the CCTV cameras, a team of Unit-4 of the Crime Branch apprehended accused Atul Pal and Rohit Bahadursingh. Other members of the gang escaped after coming to know that Atul and Rohit were arrested. A team of Unit 4 then chased Shivmurta, who was fleeing in the Hyundai car on Samruddhi Mahamarg, and nabbed him near Dhamangaon Railway.
Cops detected four cases after arresting the accused gang members. The accused trio were nabbed by the staff of Unit-4 of the Crime Branch under the supervision of DCP (Detection) Rahul Maknikar and ACP (Crime) Dr Abhijeet Patil.
