Gang of drunk vandals ransack restaurant in Bajaj Nagar, attack owner; 3 arrested

Nagpur: A gang of drunk hooligans vandalised a restaurant in Bajaj Nagar and also attacked the owner for refusing to serve food to them in the late night on Tuesday. Three vandals have been arrested and others are being searched.

The complainant, Mohit Shrikrishnapal Tiwari (24), runs Farm House Kitchen Restaurant at Bajaj Nagar Square. Around 11.30 pm on Tuesday, Mohit was present in his restaurant and was closing his restaurant. At the same time, the gang of hooligans namely Nikhil Dinesh Muthari (24) of Plot No. 54, Borgaon, Abhinay Ashok Sontakke (24) of Bhavna Apartment, Kamgar Nagar, Dipesh Gulabdas Vani (22) of Main Bazaar, Jaripatka, Nishkarsh Gedam, Prabhat Madavi and their two other unidentified accomplices, all drunk, arrived at Mohit’s restaurant in the late night and demanded food.

But as the restaurant was closed, Mohit refused to entertain their demand. Enraged by the refusal, the accused started abusing Mohit and his staff and vandalised the eating place by hurling chairs and tables. The accused even attacked Mohit with a broken wooden door and thrashed him severely.

Bajaj Nagar Woman PSI S N Raut booked the gang of seven drunken vandals under Sections 147, 149, 294, 506, 323, 427 of the IPC read with Sub-Section 85 of Maharashtra Prohibition Act and managed to arrest three of the accused Nikhil Muthari, Abhinay Sontakke, and Dipesh Vani. Other accused are being searched.
