General Manoj Pande, PVSM AVSM VSM ADC (Retd), the 29th Chief of Army Staff will be conferred with the prestigious ‘Nag Bhushan Award’ in Nagpur on October 5 for his exceptional service to the nation. International Master Divya Deshmukh who played a pivotal role in India’s success story at the Chess Olympiad in Budapest recently will be honoured with ‘Yuva Nag Bhushan Award’ during the event.
The award function will be conducted by Nag Bhushan Foundation. The Foundation, which was established in 2002 to commemorate the Tercentenary of Nagpur, has spent the last two decades recognising and honouring distinguished personalities from Vidarbha region through these awards.
These awards celebrate individuals who have brought national and international recognition to the region, highlighting their remarkable contributions. Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari will be the chief guest of the programme. The award function will be held at Summit Hall, Hotel Radisson Blu, Wardha Road at 6 pm onwards. The awardees will be honoured with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, shawl, shreefal and a memento.
