Ghazal Ustads Hussain brothers grace ‘Brahmanaad’ musical programme of SCZCC

8 (2)Nagpur: India’s internationally famed artists Ustad Ahmed Hussain and Ustad Mohammed Hussain rendered their ghazals in ‘Brahmanaad,’ a musical programme organized in the early morning by South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) Nagpur on May 10 (Sunday).

At the outset, the musical programme started with Ustad Ahmed Hussain and Ustad Mohammed Hussain lighting the traditional lamp. Other dignitaries who graced the programme include Lata Shrivastava, Divisional Commissioner Anoop Kumar, Leena Kumar, Director of SCZCC Dr Piyush Kumar and Sangita Piyush Kumar.

3 (5)The Ustads commenced their programme be rendering Raag Bhatiyar in a mesmerizing note. Later, the singing of Ganesh Vandana “Gayiye Ganapati” was well received by the audience. Thereafter, there was no stopping as the Ustad duo left the audience spell bound with the rendition of one ghazal after one another. The ghazals “Bol Raha Tha Woh Mujhse” “Chal Mere Saath Hi Chal, Aye Meri Jane Ghazal” “Zulf Bikhara Ke” “Mai Hava Hu Kaha” “Mausam Ayenge Jayenge” “Patthar Ke Jigar Walo” received wide acclaim. The concluding masterpiece “Aye Sanam Tujhse Jab Dur Chala Jaonga” was icing on the cake.

2 (15)Other artists who played accompaniments along with the Ustads include Nafis Khan on tabla, Arif Latif Khan on synthesizer, Mahesh Mallik on violin, and Prakash Ridharriya on guitar. The programme was conducted in her own outstanding style by Shweta Shelgaonkar. A large number of people from Chandrapur, Amravati, Wardha, Ramtek and other places attended the programme.

During the programme, a good amount of money was collected for relief of earthquake-affected people of Nepal. The collected amount will be deposited in Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.
