Nagpur: This winter session of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly will see free wifi from Reliance Jio to be provided in the Vidhan Bhavan premises. This move is in sync with the free internet services being offered by Jio to all its users. Sources informed that Jio would set up four wifi towers in Vidhan Bhavan premises to transform entire premises into free wifi zone.
This will not only benefit the MLAs and political leaders participating in the upcoming assembly session here but also large number of people in the vicinity.
An official from Jio’s technical team busy in erecting towers told Nagpur Today that the range of all the four towers will be 400 metres, which means the user around 400 m of these towers can avail free wifi facility. Interestingly, the users who are outside the premises but within the range of towers will be able enjoy free wifi access.
Sources said the free wifi services will be made available till December 30 only, just similar on the lines of free internet and voice calling being currently availed by its users.
