Nagpur: A young man, Rahul Rajendra Sakhre (24), residing in Amar Nagar, committed suicide by hanging due to the emotional distress caused by his girlfriend’s engagement in the MIDC police station area.
According to police, Rahul, formerly employed as a cleaner in a warehouse, had been grappling with unemployment. After the demise of his parents, he lived with his grandmother and sister. Rahul faced heartbreak as his girlfriend’s family confirmed her engagement to someone else. These events led to Rahul experiencing considerable stress.

On Sunday, his girlfriend’s engagement further increased Rahul’s emotional turmoil. Late into Sunday night, he took the drastic step and ended his life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in the kitchen of his residence. The incident was discovered by his grandmother on Monday at 6 am.
MIDC police inspected the crime scene and sent the body for post-mortem. The police have registered a case of accidental death.
