Nagpur News : Winners of Ashwamedh from Nagpur should get cash prize as token of appreciation from Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU). This was discussed in the meeting of Management Council (MC) held on Wednesday.
The members demanded that members from Nagpur University who won gold medal in Ashwamedh should be awarded cash prize of Rs 21,000 while winners of silver medal and bronze medal should get a cash prize of Rs 15,000 and Rs 11,000 respectively. The members said that Ashwamedh was organized for the first time in Nagpur University and winners should get some benefit of it. The decision will be taken, in this regard, will be taken in the next meeting of MC to be held on February 7.
Another issue discussed in the meeting was about pending DA of teaching and non-teaching staff of RTMNU. The members said that University should pay the pending DA of teaching and non-teaching staff of RTMNU from University funds. When Government will give the DA funds, it could be deposited back in University fund. The decision of the same will be taken in the next MC meeting.
The members raised objection over the 6-day delay in agenda and budget. According to the rules, agenda and budget should be given 10 days before the MC meeting. The budget was given on January 24, 6 days earlier the MC meeting. On January 24, Finance Committee was conducted and budget of Rs 318 crores was proposed. This proposal will also be discussed in the next MC meeting.
During the meeting, a committee under the chairmanship of Dr Maheskumar Yenkie, pro-Vice Chancellor, RTMNU, was also formed to discuss the delay in DA of first and second class officers of RTMNU. Dr Yenkie will submit his report within 15 days to MC.
Member D K Agrawal also demanded the status report on women harassment that was submitted in University.
All the decisions will be taken in the meeting to be held on February 7.
