It was all about emotions, memories, nostalgia and chit-chat fun! The get together of all ‘Ex Journos’ of one of the oldest media Nagpur Times & Nagpur Patrika took place at a city hotel here on Saturday. Although defunct now, the organisation’s lane of memories was afresh in every mind present. Every individual had constant smiles on their faces, the smiles of togetherness yet again. The reunion was a random plan initiated by Joseph Rao as an attempt to make every pal recollect and relive the reminiscences.
Calm and Joy
The mood of the celebration was composed yet amusing, as many narrated their shares of past experiences. Wherein, on one hand the ladies dressed elegantly enjoyed the calm music, gentlemen were seen kicking off laughter.
Penning up nostalgia
Joseph Rao, who was the pillar to such successful reunion said, “The celebration was a tremendous success that was well organized. I was able to reach 65 people personally. We made sure that mails were sent, SMS through networking sites were forwarded duly to maximum people in reach. People attended this memorable union traveling all the way from their hometowns, a few of which were even out of India. Before the festive season begins, we thought this was the best time to arrange a reunion. Meeting everyone was really nostalgic.”
Reliving charm
Also present was S. N. Vinod who relived the charm of traversing through the long track of journalistic life. Sudhir Puranik, who was actively involved in the arrangements as well gladly quotes, “It very delightful to have met all my old colleagues, and got to see them all again, many amongst whom were meeting after two long decades almost. I went down the memory lane, which was emotional. It was fun as well. I feel Nagpur Times and Nagpur Patrika had been a nursery for promoting journalism in Nagpur. Most who had been its part have reached heights. Such reunions should happen more often I feel.”
Sharad Rotkar quoted, “Awesome…blast from the past!! Lovely nostalgic moments, thanks to Praful, Joseph and others!”
