Goods worth lakhs seized at Ganjipeth, Nagpur

Nagpur News: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) officials seized electronics, clothing and other goods from four heavy vehicles at Lodipura, Sai Mandir, Ganjipeth this afternoon. The goods were seized due to non- payment of taxes (octroi) and are expected to be worth around Rs. 60 lakh to Rs. 70 lakh, according to sources.

NMC officer Kumbhare led the investigation and seized the goods. NMC Commissioner Sanjeev Jaiswal also visited the scene. Further investigations are underway.

According to sources, Octroi officials laid traps at Octroi No. 10 and Octroi No. 12 this morning, which led to the vehicles being caught. At least two vehicles are reported to have escaped from the spot upon realising the situation.
