Nagpur: In an audacious act, a goon looted cash and gold ornaments worth over Rs 90,000 from an elderly woman at knife point in Nandanvan Police Station area in the wee hours of Tuesday.
A resident of Plot No 1448, New Nandanvan Layout, Indira Jageshwar Bhoyar (64) was sleeping in her house. Her husband too was asleep in another room. Around 4 am, she heard some noise. She woke up and was shocked to find an intruder pointing a knife at her. He asked her to hand over the gold ornaments worn by her to him. He also snatched her cell phone. After taking her gold Mangalsutra and earrings worth over Rs 46,000, the robber went to the adjacent room. He collected Rs 44,000 cash from an almirah and decamped with the booty.
Following the victim’s complaint, police registered a case under Sections 452, 392 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code and launched a search for the robber.
