Goon with pistol, 2 live rounds arrested in Nagpur

Nagpur: Tehsil Police nabbed a goon and seized a pistol and two live cartridges from his possession in the small hours of Tuesday.

Identified as Ganesh Vishwanath Talware (30), the accused is a resident of Chand Mohalla, behind Nagpur Memon Jamat Hall, Bangali Panja, Maskasath. During patrolling, a police team got information that two armed goons were sitting near Nagpur Memon Jamat Hall and planning to commit some serious crime. Around 1.30 am, the team raided the locality and nabbed Talware. Another accused Fahim alias Guddu Shaikh, a resident of Bengali Panja, escaped under the cover of darkness.

During Talware’s physical search, cops found a pistol, two live cartridges and a cell phone collectively worth Rs 1.30 lakh which they immediately seized from him.

Following a complaint lodged by ASI Anil Thakur, police registered a case under Sections 3+24 of the Indian Arms Act, read with Sections 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act, against Talware and launched a search for accused Fahim Shaikh.

Three arrested, ganja worth Rs 71,200 seized

Yashodhara Nagar Police arrested three drug peddlers and seized marijuana valued at Rs 71,200, two cell phones and a motorcycle from them. The accused have been identified as Mohammad Afroz Ansari Mohammad Sagir Ansari (21), Ifteqar Ahmed Ansari Mohammad Shakeel Ansari (22), both residents of Teka and Altaf Ahmed (19), a resident of Wanjra Layout.

A case under Sections 8(c), 20(b)(2)(b), 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been registered against them.
