A roadside vendor has lodged a complaint of extortion against a 32-year-old man and his accomplices with Nandanvan police on Friday.
According to information, Nandkishor Shankarlal Sharma (45), a resident of Plot No. 882, Deshpande layout, Trimurti Nagar, runs a Bhel-puri stall in front of a footpath near Shanti Apartment No. 1, Hiwri Nagar.
On September 5, the accused Rahul alias Chaptya Meshram, aged 32, along with his accomplices approached Nandkishor and demanded Rs 10,000 per week as extortion and threatened him of dire consequences if he failed to pay the amount. However, Nandkishor, after considering the idea of approaching cops, finally lodged a complaint on Friday against the goons.
Nandanvan police have registered an offence under Sections 387 and 34 of the IPC read with sub sections 135 of MPA and booked the goons. Further investigations are in progress.
