Nagpur: The Government of India has developed a mobile games app to make information about the history of freedom struggle easily accessible to students through the mobile app. The awareness campaign in this regard has been started from September 5, the Teachers’ Day.
The Azadi Quest App was launched at Nagpur Secondary School at Police Line Takli by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Central Bureau of Communications, Government of India, Regional Office, Nagpur on the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence and National Teacher’s Day.
Nagpur Pradesh Education Society President Kishore Jichkar presided. Hansraj Raut, Assistant Director in charge of Central Communications Bureau, Nagpur, School Principal Vinod Purakam were present on the stage.
On the occasion, Raut said that as part of the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, the Indian Government has developed the mobile app called Azadi Quest based on India’s freedom struggle. Stories and important events of India’s freedom struggle are presented in question and answer format. The Freedom Struggle information provided in the app has been prepared by the Publications Department and the Indian Council of Historical Research. This app is developed in collaboration with Zynga India. The first two of these games have become popular and include Match 3 Puzzle and Veer Nayak of India. This match 3 puzzle covers the history of India’s independence from 1857 to 1947. There are total 495 game levels. Veer Nayak of India contains information about the heroes of India’s freedom struggle in the form of a quiz. It consists of total 750 questions, Raut stated.
The effort is to tap into the huge market of online gamers and educate them through games. Azadi Quest is an effort to make this learning of this knowledge engaging and interactive. The initiative is designed to engage players of all ages while harnessing the power of interactive entertainment as a teaching experience about this important era.
