Nagpur: The much-anticipated recruitment drive by the Maharashtra Police has commenced statewide, marked by press conferences held simultaneously across various police commissionerates on Monday, June 16, as directed by the Maharashtra Director General of Police.
During a press briefing, Nagpur Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Singhal disclosed that a staggering 85,284 applications were received for 603 Police Constable positions. Within the Nagpur Police Commissionerate alone, there were 29,987 applications, comprising 22,269 males, 7,713 females, and five transgender individuals vying for 347 posts.
Furthermore, applications poured in for 255 Constable positions at Nagpur Prison, totaling 55,297 applications. This pool included 39,674 males, 15,618 females, and 5 transgender individuals.
The recruitment process will kick off on June 19 at the Police Headquarters Ground on Katol Road. To ensure a seamless process, Nagpur Police have appointed two Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), three Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), 46 Police Inspectors and Assistant Police Inspectors (APIs), along with 55 officials from the ministry.
Commissioner Singhal also cautioned applicants against falling victim to fraudsters promising assistance during the recruitment process. He advised them to promptly report any such instances to the Anti-Corruption Bureau or directly to the Nagpur Police.
