Nagpur: The excitement for Lord Ganesha’s arrival is reaching its peak in the state’s winter capital, Nagpur, as devotees gear up for the much-awaited Ganeshotsav. Across the city, the festivities have already begun with the ceremonial installation of Ganpati idols starting today.
Although the official date for welcoming Lord Ganesha falls on September 7th, many in Nagpur have started bringing the deity home or installing him in public pandals early, taking into account the convenience of the crowd and preparations. However, the actual worship and rituals will commence on Ganesh Chaturthi, which falls on the fourth day of the bright fortnight in the month of Bhadrapada.
From household idols to revered public installations, the entire city is resonating with the sounds of drums and traditional instruments. For the next ten days, Nagpur will be immersed in the grand celebration of Ganeshotsav, as both homes and public venues light up with devotion and joy.
