Dr. Kavita Rattan, Founder Green Vigil Foundation has been awarded “Vidarbha Bhushan Award 2013” in Education Category and Co-Founder, Kaustav Chatterjee bagged the said award in Environment Category.
The award has been awarded by Yashwant Bharti Lokkalyan Sanstha, Nagpur. Prominently present on Dias were, Hon. Marothrao Kowase, MP Gadchiroli, Shri. Vasant Purke, Upadhakshya, Vidhansabha, Umeshbabu Choubey, Bhushan Bhasme & others
Dr. Kavita Rattan, an IITian, received the award for her extraordinary contribution in the field of education. She is a lecturer at Dr. Ambedkar College, Nagpur and as Founder of Green Vigil, has spearheaded various initiatives imparting environmental education to thousands of students in Nagpur & Central India.
Kaustav Chatterjee, Co-Founder, Green Vigil Foundation is a well known name in environment circle. He and his team have conducted more than 50 citizen awareness campaigns in central India on environmental protection, sustainable development & innovative research programmes for lake rejuvenation.
Green Vigil Foundation have reached out to more than 2,50,000 citizens directly through numerous awareness and education programs. With team strength of more than 50 postgraduate and graduate members, Green Vigil Foundation is implementing various projects in Central India including Nagpur, Amravati, Wardha (Sevagram) and Chandrapur that engage and mobilize citizens on environmental protection and sustainability. The Foundations’ focus is on involving local communities in preserving ecosystems & natural resources as a prerequisite to sustainability.
