Nagpur: With reference to a report titled “Rare find: Gold mine also discovered in Nagpur District, confirms GSI” published in Nagpur Today, the GSI, Central Region, Nagpur, has sent a clarification on the report. The Geological Survey of India has denied the news titled “Rare find: Gold mine also discovered in Nagpur District, confirms GSI” and said that no statement regarding the report has been given on the subject matter. It is further clarified that, no press release or press note has been issued from the office of HoD, Central Region on this matter to the media house.

However, Nagpur Today wishes to come clean on the report. The report titled “Rare find: Gold mine also discovered in Nagpur District, confirms GSI” was based on reports published by local media. Further as per the advice of the GSI, Central Region, Nagpur, to the media, authentication will be sought before publishing any report on discovery of gold mines or deposits in Nagpur.
