Nagpur: Shree Gujarati Samaj is organising inter-society cricket tournament from Feburary 21. The matches will be played at SB City College (Sakkardara) except final.
As many as 10 teams are taking part in the event. This include Shree Patidar Yuvak Mandal, Lakadganj, Nagpur Gujarati Bramha Samaj Yuva Mandal, Shree Visa Lad Wanik Samaj, Shree Dasha Sorathia Wanik Yuvak Mandal, Shree Kachch Patidar Samaj Lakadganj, Shree Lohana Sevea Mandal, Shree Raghuwanshi Lohana Yuvak Mandal, Shree Patidar Mitra Mandal, Ghat road, Shree Saurashtra Leuva Patel Samaj and Shree Dasha Shreemali Wanik Sangh Jgyati Sanstha.
The tournament will conclude on March 6. “From February 21 to March 2, matches will be played at SB City College Ground. The final match, will be played at VCA Ground in Kalamna,” said a statement from the organisers.
Two matches will be played daily. First match will be palyed at 8 am while the second match of the day will be played at 11.30 am. The winning team will get a cash award of 11,111 while the runners-up team will be richer by 7,777. Besides team awards, individual prizes will be given away to outstanding players of the tournament.
President of Gujarati Samaj Nagpur Rajeshbhai Katroria has urged the members of Gujarati Samaj to remain present during the matches in large numbers to raise the moral of players. A separate committee has been formed to ensure successful completion of the tournament. Rajesh Shah, Deepak Kalyani, Hasmukh Saglani, Bharatkumar Thakkar, Haresh Patel, Pradeep Rukhiyana among others of Yuva Samiti have been given the responsibility to conduct the event.
