Drainage system being laid down through school building
Nagpur: As per the latest development in the episode of laying down drainage system through Late Indira Gandhi School premises, Nimkheda, local police station officer met the school head mistress Shanta Vasantrao Khandekar. It followed a crowd of people led by Nimkheda Grampanchayat secretary, former Sarpanch and local BJP leader Ravi Chavan, all of whom reached the school. The police officer, supporting the crowd and without any investigation, accused HM Khandekar of encroaching upon the land on which school was built. He insisted that the HM should write a letter to Grampanchayat for construction of drainage through school.
In reply, Khandekar said, the matter is being taken to court, and if proved in the court, the said enchroached land would be donated to the Grampanchayat and the school building would be demolished.
She also informed the police officer that the land for school was obtained after paying the money as per demand note for land measurement on revenue-sanctioned-map-record, and if it is checked everything will become crystal clear. She also said, “If injustice is meted out to me, I will get all plots of layouts here re-measured as per sanctioned map.”
She claimed that she, being a Dalit woman, was being pressurized by BJP worker Ravi Chavan under support of local BJP MLA, Mouda BDO and Tahsildar; and she would soon meet the Superintendent of Police Nagpur (Rural) after seeking legal advice.
According to HM Khandekar, she, through Tahsildar Mouda, had brought the issue to the notice of the Nagpur District Collector, ZP CEO, Mouda BDO and Nimkheda Grampanchayat Sarpanch, but no action seemed to be taken. She said that the district administration would wake up only after some uncalled for incident occurred.
It may be mentioned that the said school was built in year 1990. The students of poor and backward communities are studying there, and now the administration is playing with the health of the poor students.
