Nagpur: A warning for heavy rainfall across Vidarbha after July 19 has been issued. An orange alert has been declared for Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gondia, Nagpur, and Gadchiroli, while a yellow alert has been issued for other districts. A low-pressure area is forming over the Bay of Bengal on Friday, raising concerns about heavy rainfall in eastern India and Vidarbha.

Several districts in Vidarbha are already affected by flooding due to recent heavy rains. Western Vidarbha, including Akola, Buldhana, and Amravati, has been experiencing heavy rainfall for several days. Similarly, eastern Vidarbha districts such as Chandrapur, Bhandara, and Gadchiroli have seen significant disruption to daily life.

The latest weather bulletin from the meteorological department has raised further concerns. Meteorologist Dr. Praveen Kumar reported that a new low-pressure area is developing over the Bay of Bengal, which is likely to evolve into a depression. Consequently, heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is expected across all districts of Vidarbha starting Friday, July 19.
