Nagpur: In one more step to make the city police hi-fi and efficient, the Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Saturday distributed latest tab and mobile phone to each police station at a function held at the chamber of Police Commissionerate here. Commissioner of Police S P Yadav was present on the occasion. The In-charge Police Inspectors of respective police stations received the tabs and mobile phones.
Now, the spot ‘Panchnama’ of a crime would be done through the tabs. The ‘Panchnama’ will contain the photograph of crime scene and signatures of witnesses. The information regarding the ‘Panchnama’ would not be changed at any point of the time. Moreover, it will be difficult for the witnesses to turn hostile.
Similarly, the mobile phones will be utilized for registering FIRs and sending its copies through SMSes or Whatsapp. The bills of the mobile phones will be paid by the Police Department. One more significant use of the mobile phones will to create Whatsapp group to connect with common people.
Bawankule, speaking on the occasion, said that the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently had patted the city police for its efficiency. Fadnavis very happy with the working of the police. As the Guardian Minister, he will strive hard for providing necessary funds to Police Department whenever they need for their day-to-day work in maintaining the law and order, said the minister.
“Kamptee and Hingna Police Stations are being connected with Nagpur Police Commissionerate.
Approval to set up a police station to be named Besa-Beltarodi Police Station has already been given. A decent housing is also being provided to policemen. A move is under consideration to connect Nagpur Police with Broad Band for free Internet service,” declared the Guardian Minister.
