Nagpur: Dr. Subhash Chaudhary, the Vice-Chancellor of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), faced a setback as the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court refused to grant him interim relief from suspension proceedings amid allegations of irregularities.
Chaudhary had been accused of various irregularities, prompting Chancellor Ramesh Bais to issue a show-cause notice on May 8, 2024. After responding to the notice, Chaudhary was summoned for a personal hearing on June 13.
Seeking legal recourse, Dr. Chaudhary approached the High Court. The case was heard on Monday by a division bench comprising Justice Vibha Kankanwadi and Justice Vrushali Joshi, who subsequently reserved judgment.
Tuesday’s decision by the High Court not to grant an interim stay on the suspension proceedings is seen as a significant development in the ongoing administrative turmoil at RTMNU.
