Nagpur: A series of murders continues to challenge the newly appointed Police Commissioner of Nagpur, with the fourth incident reported within the jurisdiction of Wathoda Police Station in the wee hours of Monday.
According to police sources, Sheikh Firoz, also known as Pakya, a history sheeter, was brutally stabbed to death by some of his accomplices. Speaking to Nagpur Today, Assistant Police Commissioner (ACP) Hemant Shinde informed that Firoz was a notorious criminal from the Wathoda area with several offenses registered against him at Nandanvan and Wathoda Police Stations.
“Prima facie, an argument broke out between the accused and the victim in the early hours of Monday. In the fit of rage, the accused stabbed Firoz, killing him on the spot,” he said, adding that, “Cops have detained two suspects in connection with this incident.”
The series of murders continues to unsettle Nagpur since the new Police Commissioner, Ravinder Singal, took charge. A few days ago, two people were killed in the Wathoda area over a financial dispute. It will be interesting to see how the new Police Commissioner tackles the menace of murder in Nagpur City.
