Nagpur: In a hit-and-run incident, a rashly driven truck crushed a cyclist to death in Nandanvan area here on Wednesday night. The absconding truck driver is being searched by cops.
The identity of deceased cyclist has not been established so far. Around 7 pm on Wednesday, the speeding truck (MH-31/CQ 6317) hit the unidentified cyclist from behind. As the cyclist fell on the road, he came under the wheels of the truck and was crushed to death. The ghastly mishap occurred in front of New Kishore Chinese Mobile Shop and Ice Cream Parlour in Nandanvan area. After the accident, the truck driver fled the spot leaving behind his killer vehicle.
Nandanvan PSI Sonule has booked the unidentified truck driver under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC read with Sub-Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act and searching for him.
