Mumbai: In a heartwarming ceremony held at the headquarters of Homeguards in the Old Secretariat, Fort Mumbai, the third installment of the Homeguards Empowerment Initiatives was presented to Mrs. Lata Premsingh Chauhan. The initiative, which aims to provide financial assistance to the families of Homeguards personnel who have lost their lives, handed over a significant amount of 50 lacs as insurance to Mrs. Chauhan.
The late HG Prem Singh Tara Singh Chauhan, who tragically lost his life in an accident on 21st February 2023, was remembered and honored as the insurance amount was handed over to his wife. Dr. B K Upadhyay, the Director General of Homeguards, took a step forward to personally present the cheque to Mrs. Chauhan. The event was graced by the presence of Shri Prabhat Kumar, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Homeguards, as well as officials from HDFC Bank, including Mr. Kochar and Mrs. Manjari.
This initiative, spearheaded by the Homeguards, signifies a strong commitment to supporting the families of those who have made immense sacrifices while serving their duty. The event also marked an important milestone as it was revealed that a total of 1.75 crore has been disbursed to beneficiaries within just one year. This substantial amount of financial aid not only provides a lifeline to the families but also highlights the Homeguards’ dedication to ensuring their well-being.
