Unidentified thieves broke open a house in Atre layout under Pratap Nagar and made away with booty worth Rs 1.27 lakh, Police sources said Latabai Omkar Gajbhiye (54), a resident of Atre layout, Plot No. 9, was out to visit her mother’s house on Sunday. Meanwhile, some unidentified thieves broke open the main door and barged into the house. They swept away gold ornaments and cash Rs 25,000 collectively worth Rs 1.27 lakh. The theft came to light when Latabai retunred home only to find her house ransacked. She immediately informed Pratap Nagar police about the incident.

Cops reached the scene and after performing preliminary investigation, they registered an offence under Sections 454, 457 and 380 of the IPC.
