Nagpur News : Gittikhadan police has booked an elderly woman and his middle aged man for abetment of suicide of his 22-year-old wife by torturing her for giving birth to girl child.
Puja Thakre had hanged herself at her husband’s residence at Ishkripa Nagar, Mansarovar Colonyon Tuesday morning.
On the complaint filed by the deceased’s father Deepak Waghmare, police has booked husband Kuldeep Thakre and his mother Shakuntala, 70, for abetment of suicide. Thakre was arrested on Wednesday evening and will be produced in the district court on Thursday. Thakre worked with a private company.
Police informed that the couple got married on April 30, 2011 and has 2-year-old daughter.

Waghmare claimed in his complaint that Puja has given birth to a baby girl and since then, Thakre and Shakuntala would torture and harass for giving birth to a girl. Fed up of the unbearable torture, Puja chose to commit suicide on Tuesday.
Police told that no suicide note was found but a personal diary of Puja was found from the room.
