Nagpur: In a turn of event, husband of Sonal Tembhe, who committed suicide by jumping from fourth floor of her apartment in Pratap Nagar area, has been booked for forcing her to take the drastic step.
It is pertinent to recall that on September 28, the 24-year old Sonal Swaraj Tembhe, resident of Harihant Apartment, Pathan Layout, Pratap Nagar, had sparked sensation in the area by jumping from balcony of her apartment in the wee hours. Pratap Nagar police at that time had registered a case of accidental death.
However, a thorough investigation and a statement given by her father Pramod Raosaheb Nerkar (55), native of Jarud, Amravati District, it has been revealed that Sonal husband Swaraj Tembhe frequently tormented her physically and mentally. The accused Swaraj would always taunt Sonal with words “You are not auspicious.
No work is getting done since marriage with you. It will be better if you die.” With these stinging words, Swaraj used to bash up Sonal. Fed up with the torturous words and beating, Sonal ended her life in the wee hours of Monday by jumping from fourth floor balcony of her apartment.
Based on the complaint of Pramod Nerkar, Pratap Nagar API Nagtilak has booked Swaraj Tembhe under Section 306 of IPC and probing the matter further.
