“I want to clear many misconceptions about me and many misconceptions about my songs, too. The High Court has cleared me and given a clean chit to me over my songs. Some mischievous persons uploaded my original song wordings with fake words like “rape” and tried to attribute the song to me. I want to come clean through my concert, the only best way to clear any misconceptions about me and the songs.”

Nagpur News: The rapper Ala pop singer Yo Yo Honey Singh, whose concert in Nagpur has been facing many stumbling blocks, roared and said he is coming to Nagpur for the concert.  The concert is scheduled on August 10.

“I want to clear many misconceptions about me and many misconceptions about my songs, too. The High Court has cleared me and given a clean chit to me over my songs. Some mischievous persons uploaded my original song wordings with fake words like “rape” and tried to attribute the song to me. I want to come clean through my concert, the only best way to clear any misconceptions about me and the songs,” Honey Singh told media through video-conferencing from Mumbai.

“I am basically a regional singer. A simpleton and down to earth person. I also keep the media away from me. Candidly speaking, I don’t know how to speak with the media or answer their questions. Some people took advantage of this situation and started defaming me by uploading my original songs with dirty words which I never sang during any of my concerts,” Honey Singh asserted.

“I need encouraging words from all – fans, media, politicians, social organizations and others to make a place in society at large as a good singer, and also make a place in their hearts. I should be given a chance for a concert in Nagpur, scheduled to be held on August 10. Only through the concert, I can remove any misconceptions in people’s minds. They are the best judge. I don’t resort to “Galiya” (Abusing words) in my concerts. On the contrary, some sections of people give me “Galiya” (Abusing words). That is why I am coming to Nagpur for the concert,” a confident Honey Singh said.

However, when the Nagpur Today contacted Nirja, the Co-ordinator of the Honey Singh Concert, she said, “Hundreds of fans want to listen to Honey Singh’s songs. We need support. We have booked hotel for Honey Singh, paid the entire amount of the Mankapur Indoor Stadium, the appeal is pending with the Collector, and we are hoping everything will be OK,” Nirja said.

It may be recalled that the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and Shiv Sena have opposed rapper Honey Singh’s concert in city. The lyrics and presentation embedded in Honey Singh’s numbers played the bone of contention once again. Recently, Honey Singh drew flak nationwide owing to the use of objectionable words in his songs. The protest against the show was apparent as Shiv Sena burnt the effigy of Honey Singh at Panchsheel Square on Saturday.

Citing Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan’s statement, the parties said that the stadium should be used only for sports activities. The MNS delegation met Member Secretary of Divisional Sports Complex Jaiprakash Dubey on Sunday and demanded cancellation of the programme.
