Produced by Rahat Kazmi, Sanjay Amar and Zeba Sajid under the banner of RKF & AMP combine, with the direction by Rahat Kazmi, movie ‘Identity Card’ is all set to release on August, 29th in 48 countries including India. The star cast of the movie ‘Identity Card’ with director Rahat Kazmi was at the Nagpur Today office on August 26, 2014 to promote the movie. In the press conference, the team of the movie mentioned various aspects and story line of the movie. Lead actors of the movie Tia Vajpai, Rahat Kazmi, Zeba Sazid, Fukran Merchant, Bijendra Kala and Dhananjy Galani were present in the press conference.

The events of the Identity Card cast and crew visit in Nagpur was organized by DJ Samuel Production and promotions got managed by ‘Nagpur Ishpecial’ (events and promotions).

Cover at Identity Card Movie promotion in Nagpur Today OfficeWhile trying to elaborate the story line, director Rahat Kazmi said that movie specifies the story of a female journalist from Delhi who happens to go to Kashmir and gets caught by STF forces, how her single day in a special police cell changes her life. He added that the movie talks about the history of Kashmir, ideological differences of people, myths about religion, about identity of a common person in a warlike situation, situation of a police person serving his duty, a common man, parents whose children are missing and at the end, a ray of hope towards the changing scenario of Jammu and Kashmir. A suggestive was put forward as a solution- rehabilitation of those who have chosen a wrong track.

Black humor with a touch of satire at some places and elements of thrill makes the movie entertaining, and movie gives a serious message to the viewers with the entertainment element, added Rahat Kazmi.

The star cast includes Tia Bajpai in the Lead role and Raghuvir Yadav, Saurav Shukla, Bijendra Kala, Dhananjy Galani.

In a tete-e-tete with Nagpur Today in the office, the cast of ‘Identity Card’ shared their experiences and the role that they played in the movie. One by one, almost everyone related how Kashmir as a place is serene, quiet, peaceful place right from the time they emerged from the aircraft. The female lead Tia Bajpayi expressed that with the media inputs that had clouded her opinion of Kashmir proved to be entirely just the opposite. The new entrants expressed their comfort level working with the veterans. They added that they got to learn a lot about acting, film-making, technical know-how of movie making, etc.

Furkan said that awe and shock at the sets and that the veterans had ensured a comfort level which made acting in the movie an enjoyable experience. It was Furkan who opined that the Kashmiri youth today know how to avoid getting into problems and if they do get into any problems, they know how to come out unscathed. However, the role that he played depicts just the opposite.

The female lead Tia added, every character is interdependent in the movie and each pay a very vital role in eliciting the message, “The problems should end soon!” She also opined that removing even one character out of the movie would cause the movie to come crashing down.

The veteran in the movie, Brijendra Kala, known for his comedy cameos for once in all seriousness said that he hopes that tier-2 cities like Nagpur where everything is slow, people with laid back attitude with certainly ‘go and watch’ a movie for its theme and the message. The masses will understand that the ‘problem’ has been for long and should end soon. He claimed that the role that he plays is that of Special Task Force personnel whose is deployed to monitor the prisoners in the cell. Since, both cannot go out leaving the other unattended, the kind of desperation and eagerness to return back to normal healthy life with its sunlights, fresh air, etc. he opined that the movie tries to convey to the people at large that apparently everybody is looking forward for normalcy in Kashmir.

However, Prashant Gupta opined that the movie can be summed up in three words, ‘Torture with Laugh’. He also said, this movie is beautiful and different, for the reason, unlike any other movie this one is a ‘Dark Comedy’ set in Kashmir. To be released simultaneously in 48 countries and in India on 29th August’14.

In conclusion, the director of the movie, Zeba Sajid said, that though she dwells in the field of fashion designing, she had always wanted to direct a movie. This was the best attempt that she made.
