IIT Fees More Than Doubled, Up From Rs 90,000 To Rs 2 Lakh

NewDelhi/Nagpur: The cost of studying at the prestigious IIT or Indian Institutes of Technology has been more than doubled.

The fee has been raised from Rs. 90,000 to Rs. 2 lakh a year, officials in the Education Ministry said on Thursday. Students from poor families will be granted a huge concession.

The IIT council had recommended raising the fee to three lakhs.
