Nagpur: The regional round of Shaastra Spark quiz, the national level quiz competition conducted by IIT Madras as a part of their annual technical festival ‘Shaastra’, will be conducted in Somalwar High school and junior college, Nikalas on Saturday, 12th of August.
‘Shaastra’ is the only student managed technical festival in the nation to be ISO 9001:2008 certified.
As a part of outreach program of ‘Shaastra’ and in an attempt to bring Shaastra closer to a wider range of audiences, Shaastra is organizing Shaastra Spark, its flagship event for school students. It is a nonprofit event and will be organized and conducted completely by the students of IIT Madras. The quiz is based on problem solving, math, science and technology, and aims to cultivate and appreciate the inclination to the technical side. In each region two teams will get award and five teams will qualify for Screening round. Top 25 teams selected after screening round will be invited to the onsite national finals at IIT Madras, and a sponsored field visit to some of the best research labs in India.
The quiz competition will start at 10 am students are requested to report 1hr before quiz. There are no participation fees for the quiz. Students are required to come in teams of two. Participants are required to register individually on the website spark.shaastra.org . Further details of quiz and a sample question paper are available on same website. Limited on spot registrations will be taken depending upon availability. Students will also get an excellent interaction opportunity with IIT Students at the venue on Sunday.
Quiz for students of class 8th to 12th, teams of two students per team.
