Nagpur: In a sudden turn of events, the Indian Railways canceled the Junior Engineer (JE) exams for Central Railway (CR) employees just a few hours before the exam was supposed to begin. The move left the gullible employees stranded in scorching summer heat outside Saint Anthony School in Ajni, here, on Thursday.
According to sources, hundreds of CR employees had gathered at the Ajni-based centre for the scheduled JE exam. However, even though the exam was supposed to start at 11 am, the aspirants were kept outside in the blazing Nagpuri-summer heat till 11.53 am, without any explanation for the delay.
After hours of waiting, the Railway officials finally informed the employees that the exams had been canceled, without any prior notice to the aspirants. The behavior of the Indian Railways officials left many of the employees fuming.
The cancellation of the exams has come as a shock to the employees, who had been preparing for the exams for a long time. Many of them had traveled long distances to reach the exam center, only to be turned away without any explanation.
The abrupt cancellation of the exams has raised questions about the efficiency and transparency of the Indian Railways. It has also caused a lot of inconvenience to the CR employees, who had taken time off from work to prepare for the exams.
This incident highlights the need for better communication and coordination between the Indian Railways and its employees, especially when it comes to important events like departmental exams. The Indian Railways should take immediate steps to address the concerns of the employees and ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.
