Nagpur: In a significant move to enhance passenger comfort, Indian Railways has upgraded the Nagpur-Pune Garib Rath Express with modern LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) coaches. The refurbished train now features 18 AC-III tier economy coaches and two generator vans, replacing the old coaches and eliminating the uncomfortable side middle berths (SMBs).
The Central Railway has confirmed that this upgrade will provide a more comfortable journey for passengers without increasing fares. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Aman Mital stated that this is part of Indian Railways’ initiative to transform its fleet and improve passenger amenities.
The introduction of LHB coaches will not only enhance the train’s appearance but also offer a more comfortable and luxurious travel experience. The removal of SMBs will reduce congestion and provide more space for passengers. With this upgrade, Indian Railways aims to deliver a superior travel experience on the Nagpur-Pune route.
