One bookie round up while another goes absconding and is being hunted down
Nagpur: Acting on information, the Special Squad of DCP (Zone 4) Noorul Hasan on Thursday raided a flat in Hudkeshwar area and unearthed a cricket betting racket. The raiding cops found two bookies accepting bets online on an IPL T20 match being played between Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals in Navi Mumbai on Thursday night.

The one bookie rounded up is Amitkumar Harinarayan Shahu (45), resident of Neelkamal Nagar, Narsala, Hudkeshwar. Another accused named Pawan Rai managed to escape and is being hunted down.
During the raid, cops seized betting material worth Rs 59,800 including Rs 14,700 cash, four mobile phones worth Rs 28,000, Samsung LED, Tata Sky Set Top Box, calculator collectively valued at Rs 16,000.
The DCP (Zone 4) Noorul Hasan had received information about the accused running an online betting racket on IPL matches.
The raid was conducted under the leadership of API Mahendra Patil. Other members of the Squad include ASI Sayyed Mushtaq, Head Constables Anil Yenurkar, Sanjay Sonavane, NPC Dnyaneshwar Bante, constables Hemant Parate, Rohan Chaudhary, and Woman Police Sepoy Vaishali.
