IPS Officer’s Visit to Medical College Sparks Academic Engagement

Shri. Sandeep Tamgadge, IPS, Additional Director General of Police (Law & Order) in Nagaland, recently visited Shalinitai Meghe Hospital & Research Centre and Datta Meghe Medical College, Wanadongri. During his visit, he thoroughly inspected the hospital facilities and interacted with various faculty members, gaining firsthand knowledge of the healthcare infrastructure.

Upon arrival, Dr. Anup Marar, CEO( Healthcare) of Meghe Group of Institutions, welcomed Shri. Tamgadge with a traditional shawl and shreephal. During the hospital tour, Shri. Tamgadge showed great interest in understanding both the challenges and strengths of the medical institution. He had interactive sessions with Dr. Vasant Gawande, CMS, Dr. Sudhir Singh, AMS, and Dr. Anjali Borkar, HOD Anesthesia. These sessions allowed for productive exchanges of ideas and showcased the vision of Shri. Dattaji Meghe implemented effectively by Shri. Sagar Meghe.

In a proactive effort to engage academically, Shri. Sandeep Tamgadge also visited Datta Meghe Medical College, where he interacted with Dr. Ujwal Gajbe, Dean of DMMC, Dr. B.R. Singh, Vice Dean, and other faculty members. He delivered a lecture to the MBBS students, sharing insights from his extensive experience. Dr. Anup Marar introduced and felicitated him beforehand. The lecture aimed to enhance the students’ understanding of the balance between personal and professional life, providing them with a unique perspective on the various challenges faced by society.

During his lecture at Datta Meghe Medical College, Shri. S. Tamgadge, IPS, delivered an inspiring message to the gathered MBBS students. He shared his personal journey, emphasizing the importance of resilience and focus in life. Shri. Tamgadge highlighted the integral roles that success and failure play in life, drawing from his own experience of overcoming a setback in class 7.

Despite facing challenges, he bounced back through focused and planned study, eventually succeeding in the UPSC exam. He encouraged the students to approach their academic and personal pursuits with determination and strategic thinking.

Furthermore, Shri. Tamgadge emphasized the significance of cultivating sympathy and empathy towards others, especially those in need of assistance. He urged the future medical professionals to extend a helping hand, fostering compassion and understanding.

This inspirational message serves as a guiding light for the aspiring MBBS students, instilling in them the values of perseverance, empathy, and a focused approach to achieving their goals in both academic and personal spheres.

The student proceedings were conducted by Dr. Parikshit Muley and Dr. Sarita Ugemughe.

The visit was coordinated by Shri. Sunil Sure, Ms. Aaliya Shafi, Dr. Noorul Ameen, Dr. Seema Singh, Mr. Sanket Surkar, Dr. Rucha Dhone, Mr. Yash, and Pooja Deotale. Shri. Roy Thomas, Dr. Shivam Gupta, Dr. Ravindra Ingole, Dr. Ishangi Nimgade, Shri. Ashish Darne, Ms. Bhagyashree, and Ms. Mansi Malekar were also present during the hospital round.
