Bengaluru/Nagpur: As per the Supreme Court order, and despite many protests, water did flow from Karnataka to
Tamilnadu – 15,000 cusecs of it from various water reservoirs near Mysore but two days later life in most of Karnataka came to a standstill in protest.
Bengaluru roads, which are usually a motorist’s nightmare on working days were traffic free and so serene looking yesterday! (Most offices had given permission to employees to ‘work from home’.)
Bus and air travel from Bengaluru were also affected as there was no vehicular traffic between the two states at dispute. Over 10,000 people make the cross state journey everyday.
C.M. of Karnataka has requested Modi for a meeting of all Cauvery basin states to resolve the issue.
