Now, Nagpur is likely to witness “Mother of all elections” with triangular fight between stalwarts of Congress and present Nagpur MP Vilas Muttemwar, BJP’s Nitin Gadkari, and AAP’s Anjali Damania.
Nagpur News: Now, it is official. Much after dilly-dallying, “Yes”, “No,” the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has finally decided to field its firebrand leader and an anti corruption crusader turned party leader Anjali Damania against the giant BJP leader Nitin Gadkari for Nagpur Lok Sabha constituency. Damania’s candidature for Nagpur Lok Sabha seat was announced by the top AAP leader and former Delhi Minister Manish Sisodiya at a press conference held in Delhi on Sunday. Sisodiya reportedly announced 20 names as candidates for the upcoming General Elections including Anjali Damania’s.
Now, the Second Capital City of Maharashtra is likely to witness “Mother of all elections” with triangular fight between stalwarts of Congress and present Nagpur MP Vilas Muttemwar, BJP’s Nitin Gadkari, and AAP’s Anjali Damania.
The AAP leader Anjali Damania would be daring the top guns of BJP and Congress on their own turf and thus making the contest triangular and titanic. Interestingly, for both Gadkari and Damania, it will be their debut in the electoral politics as none of them so far had contested either the Assembly or Lok Sabha elections. Vilas Muttemwar is a warrior of many elections.
Gadkari has been elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Council from the Graduates Constituency since 1989. On the other hand, Damania was one of the two whistleblowers who dug out the multi crore irrigation scam after her farmland, that was with her for more than a decade, was taken over for an irrigation project in the Raigad district.
AAP has emerged a major force to reckon with after party’s sterling victory in Delhi Assembly elections that put AAP Supremo in the saddle with Chief Minister’s post. Kejriwal resigned over the crucial and controversial issue of appointing Jan Lokpal and thus bringing President’s Rule in Delhi
