Nagpur: In a major crackdown against illegal gambling dens flourishing in the city, Jaripatka police on Thursday busted a first of its kind gambling den operated by women at Totiya Square. Cops arrested four women who belong to financially well off families in this connection and seized cash of Rs 30,000. However, two women managed to flee the spot by jumping from the window.
Jariptaka police received a tip-off that for the past several days, a number of women from high society regularly assembled in a building at Totiya Square for gambling. Subsequently, cops laid a trap and raided the spot where they found six women engaged in gambling activities. Though cops managed to arrest four women, two managed to run away.
