A statue of Jesus Christ was vandalised by unknown persons in Mumbai’s Juhu Tara area on Sunday afternoon even as the world celebrated Mother Teresa’s canonisation.

On Sunday, bestowing sainthood on Mother Teresa, Pope Francis said, “For the honour of the Blessed Trinity… we declare and define Blessed Teresa of Kolkata to be a Saint and we enroll her among the Saints, decreeing that she is to be venerated as such by the whole Church.”
